Repair Over Perfection: Madison Art Workshop (March 15)

Madison friends (and anyone who might want an excuse to visit)…

In-person - Sunday, March 15:
Unlearning Perfect: An Art Practice for Justice, Solidarity, and Being Human

Join Artist Rebecca Lane and me for an interactive workshop focused on the real work of being in multiracial relationships and community, where mistakes are inevitable (I know, it sucks, but it's real).

Together, we’ll explore how perfectionism - rooted in white supremacy culture - shows up in our bodies, stories, and interactions, and how it keeps us disconnected and defensive.

By dismantling the urge to “get it right,” we make space for deeper connection, courage, and repair.

It sounds heavy.
But I promise - it's not.

We will learn, play, have fun, and you'll leave with tools to navigate mistakes, apologies, repair, and more!

As we celebrate NINA Collective turning six this month, we wanted to offer an in-person gathering because being together matters. And right now, we need the power of the collective.

Bring your friends, come solo and meet new people, or just show up and see what happens.

People felt it immediately when they were in her presence, even strangers. She was loving and kind, compassionate and generous. I could tell you about all the wonders of my mom, but today, I want to share what I think she wanted you all to know. I want to share what she taught me. My mom, Deborah Ann, wasn’t superhuman. She wasn’t born special...
