Perfectionism - Not Just an Inside Job
May 3, 2026, 10:30 am - 1 pm

Does this ring a bell, "Be a good girl."? Are you ready to get real about how you were raised and where the limiting beliefs come from?

We all carry stories about who we are and what we're capable of - stories shaped by family, culture, and systems that reward getting it right.

Join me and Theater LILA for an interactive workshop where we'll look at where perfectionism comes from, how to spot it in yourself, and learn tools to start building the inner trust that makes real change possible.

We're combining learning, connection, expression, movement, and play. Because joy is part of the resistance, too!

Messing Up - It's Part of the Work
June 14, 2026, 2 pm - 4:30pm

Mistakes are not the problem. That we've been taught to avoid making them is. If we don't make mistakes, are we really showing up for the work? This session dives into what happens in our bodies and relationships when we mess up - the defensiveness, the shame, the either/or thinking - and what becomes possible when we stop trying to avoid mistakes and start learning how to navigate them and lean into repair and accountability.

The Details:
• In-person at Theater LILA: Art House 360, 401 W. Verona Ave, Verona, WI 53593
• Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 2 pm - 4:30 pm

Madison friends (and anyone who might want an excuse to visit)… In-person - Sunday, March 15:Unlearning Perfect: An Art Practice for Justice, Solidarity, and Being Human Join Artist Rebecca Lane and me for an interactive workshop focused on the real work of being in multiracial relationships and community, where mistakes are inevitable (I know, it sucks, but it's real). Today is my mom's birthday. I want to share the speech I gave at her funeral. Love was her language, and she spoke it fluently to everyone she met. People felt it immediately when they were in her presence, even strangers. She was loving and kind, compassionate and generous. I could tell you about all the wonders of my mom, but today, I want to share what I think she wanted you all to know. I want to share what she taught me. My mom, Deborah Ann, wasn’t superhuman. She wasn’t born special...
